ROIAL PlayersCalling actors, techies, playwrights...When we meet:Tuesday and Thursday nights. What we do:What would you like? The Players aren't just a run-of-the-mill production company. We're not here to indulge the whims of the theatre gods; we go only as far as you take us. Some years, it's just goofing off. Other years, it's improv. And more recently, it's been full-length shows. Want to know more? Come on down. Don't like what you see? Speak up! As a wise man once said: "The power is yours!" (Hint: He's fighting on the planet's side.) The year so far:We convened in record numbers last September and immediately set out with hopes high for a full season. Our fall production, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, played for crowds quite impressive in size, inspiring not unflattering reviews. Production dates were November 3 to November 5, 2006 in the Arena Theatre of the MSU Auditorium. Big stuff going on there, folks. What now? After a shaky start, our co-directors have chosen to take on one show apiece, resulting in an unprecedented TWO(!) shows, eventually to grace the Studio 49 Theatre in the MSU Auditorium. One generous portion of Players will be handling An Adult Evening of Shel Silverstein, whereas another heaping helping will be performing The Complete History of America (Abridged). Rehearsals for the latest productions will take up most (all) of our time, but if you're interested in getting involved with the Players, let us know - crew season is heating up. If you work for us, we'll work for you. Or something. It's really happening:Take a look at this article from the State News's Lansing Lowdown! Thanks to Jacob Carpenter and Jeana-Dee Allen. And for the sake of posterity... here's an article on a previous show. Let's look back:Our production history includes (but is not limited to):
